What We Have Achieved So Far

Nakuru Potato Cooperative Union has made significant progress in strengthening the potato value chain and improving the livelihoods of member farmers. Through organized collective marketing, the union has enhanced farmers’ bargaining power and improved access to structured markets, leading to more stable and competitive prices for produce.

We have successfully promoted adoption of improved potato farming practices through continuous farmer training and extension support. As a result, many farmers have experienced better crop management, higher yields, and improved quality standards that meet market requirements.

The union has also strengthened partnerships with key stakeholders in the agricultural sector, enabling members to access quality farm inputs and technical expertise. These collaborations have contributed to improved productivity and reduced post-harvest losses through better handling and grading practices.

Additionally, we have enhanced institutional capacity within member cooperatives by promoting better governance, transparency, and coordination. This has strengthened trust among members and positioned the union as a reliable platform for advancing the interests of potato farmers.

Our journey continues, but the progress made so far demonstrates our commitment to building a resilient, profitable, and sustainable potato farming industry.
